These beloved products include condiments and sauces, cheese and dairy, meals, meats, refreshment beverages, coffee, infant and nutrition products, and numerous other grocery products in a portfolio of more than 200 legacy and emerging brands. For this industry leader we are looking for a Category Buyer (Ingredients) in Amsterdam.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- As Category Buyer (Ingredients) you will be responsible for the development and implementation of market-oriented category sourcing and supplier management strategies to achieve competitive advantage through lowest purchase cost and value improvements consistent with the direction set by the business;
- Category strategy development and ongoing category management result from sourcing activities to ensure the most effective supply base design. This position is linked closely with several cross-functional areas from an overall project management perspective and strategy execution;
- Ensure the most optimal terms and conditions for the company while not negatively impacting service or quality;
- You will be reporting to the head of ingredients;
- Quality improvement of the raw materials and packaging via close collaboration with suppliers;
- You are continuously looking for cost saving methods and initiate projects to realize savings;
- You know your competitors and market trends and transform this into a Supply Contingency Plan;
- Together with suppliers you are constantly looking for improvements of products and achieving targets.

- A competitive salary between €7.000 and €7.500 per month based on previous experience;

About you
- You have at least 7 years of relevant work experience;
- You have experience in procuring ingredients / raw material with a spend of at least $75 million;
- Commodity and price risk management experience is highly preferred;

- You are a strong negotiator;
- You want to work in a large and international enterprise.

Their dedicated global staff manage 111000 drug product and biological sample shipments every month at all temperature ranges in more than 220 countries. In this role you will gather the information required to retrieve and deliver all shipments within the requested transit time. Communication with all departments to track shipments. Check and ensure all shipments have been delivered on time and report clearly discrepancies. Provide notification of delivery internally and to the clients offices. Ensure the correct job process flow is maintained and job files are closed accordingly for record purposes.

In this role, you will manage day-to-day office operations - imports, exports, and transportation (both domestic and international). The aim of this position is to ensure all shipments are efficiently processed, recovered and dispatched in time to meet the schedules required by the customers. This position includes managing all aspects of operational employees, ranging from their performance to assisting with their personnel files.
