Category Buyer – Crowns

As Global Category Buyer Metal Crown corks at our client’s head office, you will secure uninterrupted supply of crown corks at the lowest possible costs, whilst meeting delivery requirements and in compliance with our quality standards. The crown cork category is acting globally and represents a value of approx. €130mio. It has an extensive supply base with global, regional and local suppliers. Pricing is heavily influenced by suppy / demand on the steel market.

The category is executing an ambitious number of projects, including greenfield developments, increasing local sourcing, developing the ‘greenest’ crown cork and setting the benchmark in terms of specifications. You will be able to drive, provide input and support on all these aspects of executing the client crown cork sourcing strategy.

In this role you will:

• Develop & implement multi-year category strategy
• Lead tenders and e-auctions
• Drive implementation of CVE-projects in the various regions
• Co-drive our sustainability agenda for the crown corks category (e.g. ‘green steel’)
• Co-drive our upstream sourcing- and footprint development activities
• Do extensive stakeholder management, both internally (OpCo’s & Group functions) and externally (suppliers), to ‘make it happen’
• Conclude Framework Agreements between our clients and suppliers
• Secure uninterrupted supply for all crown corks globally
• Perform spend analysis, budgeting, operationalization of contracts and follow-up of ad-hoc requests
• Report on performance of the category (spend, contract compliance, benefit tracking)
• Further rationalize the category and de-complex the supply chain

For this role we are looking for someone with the below experience and qualifications:

• Degree in business, financial, logistics, commercial, economical or procurement discipline
• A minimum of 5 – 6 years of experience in procurement, supply chain or logistics, within a direct (raw- or packaging) materials category
• Extensive experience in strategic sourcing
• Fluent English language required (verbally & written)
