Accountant Hospitality

Which is why we are in search of a motivated Senior Accountant to be a vital part of the high-quality accounting services for hotels. This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented individual seeking a dynamic role within a fast-growing international company. As a Senior Accountant, your core mission is overseeing end-to-end accounting for various legal entities, particularly within the operational entities of European hotels. You'll collaborate with local service providers to ensure compliance. Working under the guidance of the Group Accounting Manager, your role will evolve alongside the organization's growth, offering exciting new challenges and opportunities for development.

Tasks:

• Handling end-to-end General Ledger (GL) accounting activities and overseeing the entire month-end, quarter-end, and year-end accounting close process for in-sourced legal entities.
• Posting G/L and transactional journals, including data transfer from other relevant systems, such as Opera PMS.
• Conducting monthly balance sheet and P&L fluctuation analysis, and assisting in the preparation of forecasts, budgets, and monthly reporting packages.
• Completing monthly balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Coordinating compliance deliverables with local service providers (e.g., CIT, Payroll).
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns.
• Coordinating and reviewing input from Assistant Accountants on A/R and A/P ledgers.
• Contributing to the preparation and filing of annual consolidated financial statements, as well as preparing statutory financial accounts.
• Supervising Intercompany billing, Intercompany charges, and Intercompany reconciliations.
• Developing and coaching junior accountants and assistant accountants.
• Participating in Finance projects.
• Handling any other tasks as assigned.

Candidate Profile:

• Proven working experience as an Accountant.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting or an Accounting qualification.
• Strong technical Accounting knowledge, including a solid understanding of Debits and Credits.
• Familiarity with local GAAP (UK, German, Dutch, and other European standards), with knowledge of IFRS being a plus.
• Experience with VAT returns and other regulatory filings.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications (especially Excel), with experience in MS Dynamics 365 or Navision (ERP software) and Opera PMS considered advantageous.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of other languages like Dutch, French, or German is a valuable asset.
• Previous experience in the hotel industry is a strong advantage, though not mandatory.
